This page shows how to delete a PingRep account, what happens next, and what we remove. If you came here from the App Store or Google Play, this is the page for you.
1.0 Delete your account in the app
You can do this yourself, on the web or on your phone. Only the person who is signed in to the account can do it.
Before you delete: if you shared memories or files by link, turn sharing off first, or email us. Deleting your account does not take those links down. Shared memory links and public file addresses keep working until they are removed. Section 6.0 has the detail.
On the web
- Sign in at app.pingrep.com.
- Open Settings. The direct link is app.pingrep.com/settings.
- Scroll to Danger Zone and press Delete Account.
- Read the message and press Delete to confirm.
In the PingRep app on your phone
- Open the PingRep app and sign in.
- Press the menu button at the top left of the screen, then Settings.
- Scroll to Danger Zone and press Delete Account.
- Read the message and press Delete to confirm.
If you cannot sign in, email us instead. Section 7.0 says how.
2.0 What happens right away
- You are signed out on every device.
- Your public profile goes offline.
- Your account is frozen and held for 90 days, in case you change your mind.
- If you pay for a plan, we ask our payment provider, Stripe, to end it at the end of the period you have paid for. You are signed out, so you will not be using the plan during the hold unless you sign in again, which restores the account. If you see a charge after that date, email us.
3.0 If you change your mind
Sign in again with the same email address within 90 days and your account comes back. Signing in again does not restart a paid plan that was set to end.
4.0 What we remove after 90 days
When 90 days have passed, a scheduled cleanup runs automatically. It does two things.
It replaces your personal details with placeholders. Your name becomes "Deleted User". Your email address, photo, bio, job title, company, location, contact details and public page address are removed or replaced. Your sign-in links to Google and to Keynodex Memory are cleared.
It deletes these records:
- the links, work history, education and skills on your profile, and its view counts
- the contacts and leads you saved or received, and the notes you wrote about them
- your follow-ups and relationship history
- your chats with your AI assistant and your feedback chats
- your connected calendar, your API keys and your sign-in sessions
5.0 What we keep, and why
- Direct messages with other PingRep users. They stay in the other person's inbox. Your side shows as "Deleted user".
- Payment records. We keep them for as long as tax and accounting law requires.
- Security and audit records. We keep them to investigate abuse and to meet legal duties.
6.0 What is not removed automatically
The scheduled cleanup does not yet reach everything. These items are not removed automatically:
- the memories, people, life-story and memoir content you saved, and any voice message audio, transcripts, photos and files you uploaded
- shared memory links and public file addresses: they keep working after you delete your account, until they are removed. Turn sharing off first, or email us
- conversations that visitors had with your AI Representative, and the drafts and tasks it prepared
- rooms and shared links you created
- the search index we built from your memories
- passkeys and push-notification settings saved for your devices
- your analytics profile at PostHog and your customer record at Stripe
- your Keynodex Memory account, which is a separate product
- PingRep's own usage and visit records, which are kept for 13 months, and the logs of requests to our servers, which hold IP addresses and have no automatic deletion yet
- summaries posted to our internal team chat in Slack, which stay there until we remove them
- onboarding profile-builder chats, issue reports, posts, message shares and message feedback, memoir orders and quotes, and organisations you created
- anything else that is linked to your account and not named above
To have all of these removed, email privacy@pingrep.com from the address on your account and say you want your PingRep data erased. We will do it and reply within 30 days. We may first ask you to confirm that you control the account's email address.
7.0 Delete by email
If you cannot sign in, or you want everything above removed in one step, email privacy@pingrep.com from the address on your account. Say that you want your account deleted. We reply within 30 days.
